MAP Testing Next Week

Fifth Graders,

MAP testing will be next week.  All fifth graders will take the reading and math tests.  Below is our schedule:

Math:
Patton/Papadimitriou MATH classes:  Tuesday, April 22 at 9:15am
Mekky/Williams MATH classes:  Thursday, April 24 at 9:15am

Reading:
Our whole class Wednesday, April 23 at 1:30pm

These tests are VERY important, as they will help determine placement for math and reading next year and are also a good measure of growth between spring of last year and spring of this year.  Please be sure to eat a good breakfast each day and get a lot of sleep next week.  We want to make sure we're at our best to take these tests.

Please email me if you have any questions (jpatton@sd25.org).

Thanks!

Fifth Graders,

I hope you enjoyed your extended weekend!  Wow, another 4 day weekend, don't get used to those!  Hopefully this cold weather is working its way out of Chicago and we can some full weeks of school.  We sure have a lot to catch up on!

Red Ribbon Week has been postponed until next week.  Please remind me this week to review what we're celebrating each day.  We can write it in our assignment books for next week so you are well prepared!

This is a reminder that your January letters are due tomorrow.  Please see me right away in the morning if yours is not done.  I reminded you on Friday to take everything home with you in case of these "cold days."  Hopefully they are all finished!  See below on an earlier blog post if you need the directions again.

Tomorrow is a normal Wednesday schedule.  Please be sure to wear (or bring) your gym shoes as we have PE in the morning.

Stay warm and see you tomorrow!

Permission Slips Due Tomorrow!

Hi fifth graders,

Today I passed out 2 forms that need to come back ASAP.

The first is the permission slip for our field trip next Thursday.  Please return that, along with $7.00 for the trip.  Be sure to mark whether you will be getting lunch from the school.  Otherwise you will need to bring money that day to buy food in the food court.

The other form I need back is the one for parent chaperones.  Remember, if your parents can help us that day, we will have a lottery to see who in fact comes with us.  Parents, thank you in advance for your help with this field trip!

Because of our extended break, we don't have a lot of time to get these forms back.  It would be most helpful if you returned them both tomorrow (Thursday), but if that's not possible, Friday is ok too.

Looking forward to a fun week next week!
Ms. Patton
